A company that rewards the bold

The journey of Francesca at Scalapay

As Long as I’m Learning, I’m in the Right Place.

There are three key things I’ve learned at Scalapay.

The first is that your process can make a difference. It might sound like something you’d read on a fortune cookie, but it’s absolutely true. It took me three years, two career advancements, and countless lessons from mentors I still deeply admire to realize this.

In the end, a significant portion of the onboarding, and partnership processes that improved our company’s welfare programs (like psychological support and gym access) now bear my signature.

I often say that four months at Scalapay are roughly equivalent to a year at any other company. Those who work here know I’m right.

This is because, unlike many other places, Scalapay gives you the chance to take risks, make mistakes, and grow. Colleagues constantly inspire and challenge each other, fostering horizontal growth. This applies both to those who joined during the Unicorn boom, like I did, and to those coming in now, finding a more structured environment.

The second thing I’ve learned at Scalapay is that it’s people who make a company rich, not the other way around.

I first noticed this with one of the company managers, Sara, who encouraged me from the beginning to break the stigma surrounding HR and step out of my office.

It might sound simple, but for those in my field, it’s all too easy to build an invisible wall between ourselves and others. Knowing that this workplace promotes open, honest interactions has been a great relief.

I also saw it in Simone Mancini, Scalapay’s CEO, who moves through the company with the grace and humanity of someone who understands that real innovation is born far from traditional roles.

For him, as for all the senior professionals I’ve worked with from the start, I wasn’t just an intern. I was Francesca—someone whose brilliant ideas could emerge and be elevated to something greater.

I’d like to conclude this list with a third point: a symbolic blank space.

Because that’s how things work here.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re junior, mid-level, or senior. At Scalapay, every day is like flipping through a blank page that keeps renewing itself.

There are new problems to solve, challenges to overcome, and processes to implement.

In other words, it’s a raging river.

But if you’ve got the right surfboard to ride the waves, you’ll shine.

A static person doesn’t thrive at Scalapay, I’ve realized over the years.

And that’s perfectly fine because as long as I’m learning, I know I’m in the right place.
