The value of making an impact

The journey of Simone at Scalapay

Simone shares the journey that brought him to Scalapay and the reasons that made him stay.

Be impactful.

Not everyone knows this, but in 2021, this was one of Scalapay’s core pillars.

When I joined, it resonated with me immediately.
I loved the promise of leaving a mark, of doing something that wasn’t just valuable but also had a name and a face attached to it.

This is the story of how that name—the one that could truly make a difference—turned out to be mine.

Before Scalapay, I worked at Amazon.
I was just starting out, and joining such a massive company helped me build a methodical approach to my work.

But over time, something changed. I started feeling constrained by the system.
Every procedure there was rigidly established, leaving no room for creativity—not even when it came to organizing the launch of two new warehouses.

There was no space to experiment, and definitely no room to fail.
I realized I wasn’t so different from my colleagues in the warehouse, endlessly repeating the same movements to load and move packages.

For me, Amazon and Scalapay became the “before” and “after” that changed my life.

The “after” began with a random visit to LinkedIn—one of those insignificant moments that feel like they were written in some book of fate.

From there, it was a whirlwind of meetings, presentations, and mutual bets.
We clicked. I was intrigued by the project, and in 2021, I joined Scalapay as an IT Specialist.

Fast-forward three years, and today I’m an IT Manager, with a team that supports me and responsibilities I never thought I’d have.

I’m incredibly proud of my journey, even though the past three years have been anything but easy.

There was a lot of pressure, especially at the beginning, because the growth projections were sky-high, and I was on my own.

One of my biggest challenges was having to invent an entire system to manage technical issues—because back then, it didn’t exist.

The company was literally taking off, and the workload was enormous.

At Amazon, everything was pre-written. At Scalapay, everything had to be built.
But thanks to that intense and transformative period, Scalapay now has a ticketing system designed by me. And I believe it’s one of the greatest achievements of my career.

Joining a company like Scalapay forces you to make a choice: passively follow instructions or step out of your comfort zone.

Having experienced what it’s like to passively execute tasks validated by someone else, I wanted more. I wanted to be more.

Scalapay is the kind of environment where that can happen. It rewards those who feel they have something to offer and are willing to work to make it a reality.

I’m living proof of that.
